Privacy notice

Kettie is made by Johan Bothma in South Africa. This notice says what this site keeps about you and why, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) asks.

What we keep

• Your first name, surname, country and e-mail address, as you typed them.
• Your password, only as a one-way hash: nobody, us included, can read it back.
• The date you registered and the internet (IP) address you registered from, to recognise abuse.
• When you last signed in, and a cookie that keeps you signed in (it holds no personal information).
• For each rifle you tell Kettie to sync: its name, chambering and barrel length, and per load its name, powder, charge, bullet and COL -- nothing else from the rifle file.
• What you send from the range (target photos with the marks you made, your note and distance) until Kettie has fetched them, and at most 60 days. The page sends the photo without the camera's hidden details such as the GPS position.
• For each Kettie you link to your account: the computer's name, when it was linked and from which address, and when it last connected.

Why

To let you download Kettie, to send you the mails this account needs (confirming your address, resetting your password) and, as it arrives, Kettie Online. We do not sell or share your details, and we do not use them for advertising.

Where and for how long

On our own server. For as long as you have an account. Deleting your account (on your account page) removes all of it at once.
